10 days and counting...

Only ten days until the wedding. I think I am ready for this. the purse is done, the quilt will wait until Christmas-time, and all that is left are the shoes. I suggested white flipflops, after all it is July in the desert. Others had suggested white crocks, but she is determined to po-po us all. So the search for the perfect pair of shoes continues.
As an added bonus I found her Christening bonnet in the cedarchest and it turns into a Bride's hankey. Yeah, for the packrat it me!!

Two weeks and counting...

We are down to two weeks and a day. Wow, did that 6 months fly by quickly. The items on my list have shrunk to just 3: bride's shoes, bride's purse and the quilt (which may end up being a Christmas present at this rate).

A much needed trip to New York helped put some of this wedding stuff in a better perspective. What gets done is great and the rest is just fluff.

I found some great deals by visiting http://susie-says.blogspot.com/ and surfing the web for various gift items, bubbles, and centerpieces. It is amazing what you can do from the comfort of your (or anyone's) couch with an internet wifi link, laptop and a cell phone. Oh yes and let's not forget a credit card.

The little things are killing me....

So the search for a mother-of-the-bride dress was much easier than I had anticipated. It only took trying on 6 dresses and going to one store twice. Once for me to narrow it to two dresses and once for a second opinion. It is a sage green which shall go well with the silver and red theme.

Now the invitations are being printed and mailed this weekend, the cake has been ordered (who knew there was going to be flavor choices!), the favors, cake topper, center pieces, flight and room reservations have all been completed this week.

We are still lacking 3 or 4 addresses, but this will come as people get tired of my e-mails. And if your name starts with an "A" we need your address (hint, hint).

With only 5 weeks to go...
